[Mediapen=Cho Han-jin] LG is using its drone and smartphone technology to restore Alto Tajo Natural Park to its former glory.

Located in Spain, Alto Tajo Natural Park suffered from one of the worst wildfires which resulted in the devastation of a large section of the park.

To reforest the park, LG effectively used their high-tech drone, G8 ThinQ smartphone and Gram laptop to plant approximately 2 million seeds throughout the vast park.

First they used their smartphone topped with three rear cameras to take photos of the park during the drone’s scanning flights. Second, the collected data and images were uploaded onto the laptop, which analyzed them to identify optimal locations to disperse the seeds. Finally, the drones controlled by smartphones were used to disperse and plant the seeds.

LG worked in partnership with CO2 Revolution, a local startup. CO2 Revolution is working to build a sustainable ecosystem by planting trees after analyzing the temperature, rainfall, soil and native plants.

Alto Tajo Natural Park is just the beginning of LG’s ‘Smart Green Campaign’, working towards stopping global warming and environmental pollution.

LG set the goal of planting 47 millions new trees in Spain by 2030. They hope to see every Spanish citizen plant one tree as part of their ‘One Person, One Tree’ campaign to ensure a greener planet.
