[Mediapen=Kim Young-min]KT announced on 9th that it completed the construction of wired and wireless communication network including 5G services and the operation center for ‘The 18th FINA World Championships Gwangju 2019’. This event is held from July 12th to 28th in Gwangju and Yeosu.

As one of the national sponsors of this event, KT is in charge of broadcasting, operating network and managing facilities. Also, they will operate a booth introducing 5G technologies to world guests.

KT has completed on-site inspection, network equipment installation, facility construction, event rehearsals, and is now ready to hold the event. They are especially focusing on providing a perfect communications network. KT is entering an emergency work system during the event where network experts will be on field.

In addition, KT has established a 5G communication network around the stadium so that visitors from all over the world can experience 5G technologies. KT plans to secure its top position as 5G-based ICT company for holding international sporting events. They have already shown their 5G infrastructure in Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics and 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
