[Mediapen=Liz Jo]JEJU Air surveyed their cabin crews and passengers on ‘Unacceptable in-flight behavior’ and identified the top travel annoyances. 

Among 344 cabin crew members, 38.7% replied that the most disruptive passengers were those out-of-control and who verbally abused others.

Coming in second place was parents or guardians who left their crying child unattended with 26.7%. Multiple voting was allowed for this survey.

Other bad behaviours were drunkenness(18%), smoking(9.8%), shouting and talking loudly(6.7%).

39% of passengers replied that nothing is more testing and annoying than a crying child left unattended. Next was violent seat-kicking(33.3%), disrupting cabin crews and other passengers(30.7%) and drunkenness(25.5%). 

Of 88 respondents who worked at the airport, ‘disrespectful, abusive, ignorant’ behaviours topped the polls with 93.2%.

An executive from JEJU Air concluded that being considerate to other passengers is the key to a pleasant travel experience and asked for every cabin crews’ and passengers’ cooperation.

Meanwhile, Korea’s Aviation Safety and Security Act prohibits smoking and disturbances including abusive language and loud singing. 

Anyone who violate these acts may be punished by imprisonment or by a fine, depending on the situation.
