With SKT’s new 5G technology, viewers will gain an immersive experience. They can see the player’s screen themselves, enjoy the game from the character’s sight and feel the sports stadium through 360-degree VR.

LCK Arena with 400 seats built in 2018 is not enough to accommodate rapidly growing esports fans. The tickets for matches between popular teams are usually sold out early. Now, esports fans can enjoy VR live broadcasting without actually going to the stadium.

When customers activate the Jump AR application, they are virtually connected to the LOL Park. They can view messages from supporting fans nationwide with AR by facing their smartphones toward a certain location and leave their own messages.

SKT also provides VR live broadcasting through VR cameras installed on stage. Viewers can see the players up-close and feel the cheering atmosphere in real time. This service is now available in SK’s Oksusu 5GX channel.

Mr. Jeon Jin-soo, president of 5GX Development & Service Business commented “With 5G technology, the next-generation broadcasting of esports is now ready for action.” He added “With nationwide 5G Cluster, SKT will expand innovative 5G services for our consumers.”
