21일 미국 오스틴 아메리칸-스테이츠먼이 입수한 부동산 등기 및 텍사스 주 면허규제국(TDLR) 공식 문서에 따르면, 삼성전자의 핵심 반도체 라인 파트너사인 한양ENG의 미국 자회사(Hanyang ENG USA Inc.)가 오스틴 북동부에 새로운 대규모 제조 및 사무용 시설을 건설하기 위한 토지 허가 신청서를 최종 제출했다.

공식 허가 서류에 따르면, 한양ENG의 이번 미국 투자는 삼성전자 파운드리 공정의 고도화 일정에 맞춤형으로 연계돼 실행된다. 한양ENG가 2019년부터 보유해 온 해리스 브랜치 파크웨이 인근의 미개발 7에이커 부지에 6만2435제곱피트(약 1750평) 규모의 하이테크 제조 시설이 들어선다.
총투자 금액은 약 1400만 달러(평방피트당 약 224달러)로 책정됐으며, 올해 7월 공사를 시작해 2027년 5월 완공목표다. 새롭게 지어질 생산 기지는 기존 삼성전자 오스틴 반도체 공장에서 서쪽으로 불과 3km 떨어진 전략적 요충지에 위치해 공정이슈 발생시 실시간 대응이 가능한 초밀착 공급망을 완성하게 된다.
Breaking Ground on a 62,435-Sq-Ft Facility on Harris Branch Parkway
According to official permit documents, Hanyang ENG’s latest U.S. investment will be executed in a highly customized linkage with Samsung Electronics’ roadmap for advanced foundry processes. A 62,435-square-foot high-tech manufacturing facility will be built on an undeveloped 7-acre site near Harris Branch Parkway, which Hanyang ENG has owned since 2019.The total investment is budgeted at approximately $14 million (roughly $224 per square foot), with construction scheduled to begin this July and completion targeted for May 2027. Strategically situated a mere 3 kilometers west of Samsung Electronics’ existing Austin semiconductor plant, the newly built production base will complete a hyper-localized supply chain (SCM) capable of providing real-time responses to any operational or process issues.

한양ENG의 핵심 자산은 반도체 미세 공정에 필요한 고위험 화학 물질 및 특수 가스를 온도로 제어해 오염 없이 수송하는 초고순도(UHP) 배관 시스템이다. 미국 진출 20년의 트랙 레코드를 가진 한양ENG는 지난 2023년 보조금 70만5000 달러를 지원받아 미국 본사를 시더파크로 이전한 바 있다. 이번 오스틴 북동부 공장 추가건설은 단순한 현행 유지용 투자가 아니다. 이는 현재 삼성전자가 오스틴 북쪽 테일러시에 건조 중이며 올해 말 본격 가동 및 양산을 앞둔 차세대 4나노 이하 파운드리 신공장의 대량 물량까지 완벽하게 소화하기 위한 SCM 사전 포석이다. 기존 오스틴의 성숙 공정 라인과 테일러의 최첨단 첨단 공정 생태계를 양방향으로 묶는 철옹성 교두보가 마련된 셈이다.
Implanting Ultra-High Purity Piping Tech: Targeting Both Austin and Taylor Hubs
Hanyang ENG’s core asset is its Ultra-High Purity (UHP) piping system, which transports high-risk chemical substances and specialty gases required for semiconductor fine processes without contamination by precisely controlling temperatures. Armed with a 20-year track record in the United States, Hanyang ENG previously relocated its U.S. headquarters to Cedar Park in 2023, backed by a $705,000 grant. This additional factory construction in Northeast Austin is far from a mere maintenance investment. Rather, it serves as a preemptive supply chain (SCM) maneuver to flawlessly absorb the massive production volumes from Samsung Electronics' next-generation sub-4nm foundry plant. That new facility is currently under construction in Taylor, north of Austin, and is slated to commence full-scale operations and mass production later this year. In essence, the company has established an impregnable bridgehead that dual-tethers the mature process lines of Austin with the state-of-the-art process ecosystem of Taylor.
