[Mir’s Global Radar]Korean Packaging Maker SEOIL Opens Morocco Plant to Expand Export Network
Korean beverage-packaging manufacturer SEOIL Corporation has inaugurated its first African factory in Morocco, expanding its manufacturing footprint to serve customers in Europe, the Americas and Africa.
According to Moroccan media reports, the opening ceremony took place on October 29 at the LOGINTEK industrial and logistics zone in Settat province. The facility has a planned annual capacity of six billion drinking straws, with 95 percent of output intended for export.
Local reports put the factory’s area at 24,790 square meters. Planned annual capacity comprises three billion paper straws and a combined three billion polypropylene and biodegradable-material straws.
The Moroccan facility will broaden SEOIL’s supply base for international customers, with production spanning paper and other materials.
Founded in 1979, SEOIL designs and manufactures its own straw-making machinery, according to its official website. It applies common production processes and quality standards across its manufacturing locations.
The Moroccan operation plans to develop local expertise through training and exchanges with other SEOIL facilities, transferring manufacturing know-how alongside production capabilities.
The Moroccan project had been under development before this week. Local coverage in December 2025 had already described SEOIL’s planned presence and export-oriented production strategy. The latest reports mark the project’s progression to a factory inauguration.
SEOIL has also announced its Moroccan expansion through its corporate social media account, describing it as a strategic foothold in North Africa.
