두바이에 본사를 둔 글로벌 금융투자사 스타트레이더는 최근 미국 증시에 상장된 SK하이닉스 ADR을 기초자산으로 한 차액결제거래(CFD) 상품 'SKHY'를 출시하고 거래를 시작했다.

SK하이닉스는 최근 미국 증시 ADR 상장을 통해 약 265억달러(약 39조원)를 조달하며 글로벌 투자자들의 관심을 모았다. 인공지능(AI) 반도체 시장 확대와 함께 고대역폭메모리(HBM) 분야 선도기업으로 평가받는 SK하이닉스에 대한 해외 투자 수요가 커지면서 관련 금융상품도 빠르게 다양화되는 모습이다.

스타레이더는 이번 SKHY 출시를 통해 투자자들이 실제 주식을 보유하지 않고도 SK하이닉스 ADR의 가격 변동에 투자할 수 있도록 지원한다고 설명했다. 해당 상품은 글로벌 거래 플랫폼인 메타트레이더를 비롯해 자체 모바일 플랫폼 'STAR-APP', 소셜트레이딩 서비스 'STAR-COPY' 등에서 이용할 수 있다.

CFD는 기초자산을 직접 보유하지 않고 가격 변동에 따른 차익을 정산하는 파생상품으로, 상승장과 하락장 모두에서 투자 전략을 구사할 수 있는 것이 특징이다.

피터 카스텐 스타트레이더CEO는 "AI 산업이 확대되면서 투자자들은 엔비디아 등 AI 반도체뿐 아니라 AI 시스템의 핵심 인프라를 담당하는 메모리와 HBM 공급망에도 높은 관심을 보이고 있다"며 "SKHY 출시는 글로벌 투자자들이 AI 메모리 생태계에 보다 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 하기 위한 것"이라고 말했다.

업계에서는 AI 반도체 산업이 성장세를 이어가면서 글로벌 금융사들이 주요 반도체 기업을 기초자산으로 한 투자상품을 잇달아 확대하는 움직임이 이어질 것으로 보고 있다.

Investment products linked to SK Hynix are expanding across global financial markets 

following the company's successful capital raising through its U.S. American Depositary Receipt (ADR) listing.

Dubai-headquartered global multi-asset brokerage STARTRADER announced that it has launched trading of 'SKHY', a Contract for Difference (CFD) product based on SK Hynix's U.S.-listed ADR.

SK Hynix recently attracted significant attention from global investors after raising approximately US$26.5 billion (about KRW 39 trillion) through its U.S. ADR offering. As demand for artificial intelligence (AI) investments continues to grow, international investors are increasingly focusing on SK Hynix, which is widely recognized as a leading supplier of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), a key component in AI computing.

STARTRADER said the launch of SKHY enables investors to gain exposure to price movements in SK Hynix's U.S.-listed ADR without directly owning the underlying shares. The product is available across the company's trading ecosystem, including the widely used MetaTrader platform, its proprietary mobile application STAR-APP, and its social trading service STAR-COPY.

A CFD is a derivative instrument that allows investors to trade on the price movements of an underlying asset without taking ownership of the asset itself. The product enables investors to take both long and short positions depending on market conditions.

Peter Karsten, Chief Executive Officer of STARTRADER, said investors are increasingly shifting their attention beyond AI chip designers such as Nvidia to companies supplying the memory technologies that underpin AI infrastructure.

"With the rapid expansion of the AI industry, investors are paying closer attention not only to AI semiconductor companies but also to the memory and HBM supply chain that powers AI systems," Karsten said. "The launch of SKHY is intended to provide global investors with easier access to the AI memory ecosystem."

Industry observers expect global financial institutions to continue expanding investment products linked to major semiconductor companies as demand for AI-related assets remains strong.
