[미르의 글로벌 레이더]에코프로HN, 마이크론 美ID1 공급망 진입…아이다호 현지 문서 확인

[미디어펜=편집국]에코프로에이치엔의 미국 아이다호 반도체 장비 공급이 글로벌 메모리업체 마이크론의 신규 반도체 공장 ‘ID1’ 프로젝트 공급망과 연결된 것으로 나타났다.

에코프로에이치엔은 그동안 미국 건설사 호프만 컨스트럭션(Hoffman Construction)과 아이다호 반도체 생산시설에 온실가스 저감설비를 공급하는 계약을 잇달아 체결했지만 최종 고객사는 공개하지 않았다.

그러나 미국 아이다호주 환경 관련 인허가 자료와 미국 수입통관 자료를 교차 확인한 결과 호프만이 마이크론 ID1 프로젝트에 참여하고 있으며, 별도의 통관자료에는 에코프로에이치엔에서 ‘Micron Technology Inc ID1 Boise’로 RCS 관련 장비가 직접 선적된 기록이 확인됐다.

앞서 국내에서는 에코프로에이치엔이 마이크론의 아이다호 ID1·ID2 신규 팹에 RCS와 케미컬필터를 공급하는 2000억~2500억원 규모 계약을 추진하고 있다는 내용이 알려진 바 있다.

다만 현재 공개된 자료만으로 해당 2000억~2500억원 규모 전체 계약이 최종 체결됐다고 단정할 수는 없다.

EcoPro HN’s semiconductor equipment supply operations in Idaho have been linked to the supply chain for Micron Technology’s new ID1 semiconductor fabrication facility in the United States.

EcoPro HN previously signed a series of contracts with U.S.-based Hoffman Construction to supply greenhouse-gas abatement systems for a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Idaho. The ultimate semiconductor customer, however, was not disclosed.

A cross-check of Idaho environmental permitting records and U.S. import data shows that Hoffman is involved in Micron’s ID1 project. 

Separately, U.S. trade records identify shipments of RCS-related equipment directly from EcoPro HN to “Micron Technology Inc ID1 Boise.”

South Korean media previously reported that EcoPro HN was pursuing contracts worth an estimated KRW 200 billion to KRW 250 billion to supply RCS systems and chemical filters to Micron’s ID1 and ID2 fabs in Idaho.

However, publicly available records do not yet establish that the entire KRW 200 billion to KRW 250 billion package has been formally awarded.

6일 미국 아이다호 환경품질국(DEQ)의 관련 인허가 자료를 확인한 결과 ‘Micron ID1’ 프로젝트의 건설 우수 관련 사업자로 ‘Hoffman Construction Company’가 명시돼 있다.

관련 신청일은 지난달 21일이다.

에코프로에이치엔이 앞서 미국 아이다호 반도체 생산시설에 온실가스 저감설비를 공급하기로 계약한 바로 그 호프만이 마이크론 ID1 프로젝트 사업자로 미국 현지 정부 자료에 등장한 것이다.

마이크론의 ID1은 아이다호주 보이시에 건설 중인 첨단 메모리 반도체 생산시설이다.

마이크론은 보이시에 첨단 메모리 팹 2곳을 건설하고 있으며 첫 번째 팹은 2027년 DRAM 생산을 시작할 예정이다.

회사는 아이다호 생산시설을 기존 보이시 연구개발(R&D) 거점과 연계해 고대역폭메모리(HBM)를 포함한 첨단 메모리 제품 생산을 확대한다는 계획이다.

에코프로에이치엔은 지난 8월 호프만과 아이다호 반도체 생산시설에 대용량 온실가스 저감설비를 공급하는 약 210억원 규모 계약을 체결했다.

이어 9월에는 같은 호프만과 약 198억원 규모의 추가 공급계약을 맺었다.

두 계약의 합계는 약 408억원이다.

당시 에코프로에이치엔은 공급지역을 미국 아이다호라고 밝혔지만 최종 반도체 고객사의 이름은 공개하지 않았다.

A review of permitting records from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) shows that “Hoffman Construction Company” is listed in connection with storm-water permitting for the “Micron ID1” project.

The relevant application is dated September 21.

Hoffman is the same U.S. construction company with which EcoPro HN previously signed contracts to supply large-scale greenhouse-gas abatement systems to a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Idaho.

Micron’s ID1 is an advanced memory semiconductor fabrication facility currently under construction in Boise, Idaho.

Micron is developing two leading-edge memory fabs in Boise, with DRAM production at the first facility expected to begin in 2027.

The company plans to integrate the new manufacturing complex with its existing Boise R&D operations to support production of advanced memory products, including high-bandwidth memory, or HBM.

EcoPro HN signed an approximately KRW 21 billion contract with Hoffman in August to supply large-scale greenhouse-gas abatement equipment to a semiconductor facility in Idaho.

A second contract worth approximately KRW 19.8 billion followed in September.

Together, the two contracts amount to approximately KRW 40.8 billion.

At the time of the announcements, EcoPro HN identified Idaho as the destination but did not disclose the name of the ultimate semiconductor customer.

미국 수입통관 자료에서는 양사의 연결고리가 직접적으로 나타난다.

미국 무역 데이터베이스 ‘임포트키’에 따르면 지난 6월 11일 미국으로 들어온 화물의 공급자로 ‘ECOPRO HN’, 수입자는 ‘MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC ID1 BOISE’로 기록됐다.

선적 품목에는 ‘RCS CASING’, ‘RCS PLATFORM’, ‘CATALYST’, ‘HEAT SINK MATERIAL’, ‘MODULE’ 등이 명시됐다.

RCS는 축열식 촉매연소 시스템(Regenerative Catalytic System)으로 반도체 제조 과정에서 발생하는 온실가스를 저감하는 설비다.

해당 데이터베이스에는 에코프로에이치엔에서 마이크론 ID1 보이시로 향한 관련 물량이 모두 10건으로 표시됐다.

8월 물류기록에서도 같은 흐름이 나타난다.

미국 무역 데이터베이스 트레이드마젤란의 8월6일 자료에는 수입자가 ‘Micron ID1 Boise’, 공급자가 ‘Ecopro HN’으로 기록됐다.

관련 품목에는 온도 감지기와 압력계, 트랜스미터, 질량유량계 등 설비 부품이 포함됐다.

국내에서 에코프로에이치엔의 마이크론 아이다호 프로젝트 수주 추진 사실이 알려진 것과 별개로, 에코프로에이치엔의 장비가 실제 ‘Micron ID1 Boise’를 목적지로 미국에 들어간 물류기록이 확인된 것이다.

U.S. import records provide a more direct link between EcoPro HN and Micron’s Boise project.

According to U.S. trade database ImportKey, a shipment entering the United States on June 11 lists “ECOPRO HN” as the supplier and “MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC ID1 BOISE” as the importer.

The shipment description includes “RCS CASING,” “RCS PLATFORM,” “CATALYST,” “HEAT SINK MATERIAL,” and “MODULE.”

RCS, or Regenerative Catalytic System, is used to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions generated during semiconductor manufacturing processes.

The database displays 10 shipment records associated with EcoPro HN and Micron ID1 Boise.

A similar connection appears in August trade data.

TradeMagellan records dated August 6 list “Micron ID1 Boise” as the importer and “Ecopro HN” as the supplier, with equipment-related items including temperature sensors, pressure gauges, transmitters and mass-flow meters.

The records therefore provide physical shipment evidence connecting EcoPro HN equipment with Micron’s ID1 Boise site, beyond earlier reports that the Korean company was pursuing supply opportunities for Micron’s Idaho expansion.

에코프로에이치엔은 반도체 제조 과정에서 발생하는 온실가스와 유해물질을 제거하는 환경 솔루션을 주요 사업으로 하고 있다.

특히 반도체 공정에서 발생하는 과불화화합물(PFCs)을 처리하는 대용량 온실가스 저감설비를 공급하고 있다.

에코프로에이치엔은 지난 8월 호프만과의 계약을 발표하면서 이를 계기로 온실가스 감축 솔루션 사업을 해외 반도체 사업장으로 확대한다는 계획을 밝혔다.

마이크론 공급망 진입은 고객 다변화 측면에서도 의미가 있다.

에코프로에이치엔의 반도체 환경설비 사업은 삼성전자 중심으로 성장해왔지만 최근 미국과 싱가포르 등 해외 반도체 생산시설로 사업 영역을 넓히고 있다.

지난달에는 마이크론 싱가포르 법인과 약 936억원 규모의 온실가스 저감설비 공급계약도 체결했다.

에코프로에이치엔이 최근 밝힌 올해 누적 수주액은 약 2500억원이다. 여기에는 마이크론 싱가포르 936억원과 미국 호프만 관련 408억원 등의 계약이 포함된다.

향후 관심은 아이다호에서 공급 규모가 얼마나 확대될지에 쏠린다.

앞서 국내에서는 에코프로에이치엔이 마이크론의 ID1·ID2 신규 팹에 RCS와 케미컬필터를 공급하는 2000억~2500억원 규모 사업을 추진 중인 것으로 보도됐다.

현재까지 공개자료로 확인되는 것은 호프만과 체결한 아이다호 관련 약 408억원 규모 계약과 에코프로에이치엔에서 ‘Micron ID1 Boise’로 직접 이어지는 미국 통관기록이다.

따라서 2000억~2500억원 규모 전체 사업의 최종 계약 여부와 ID2까지의 공급 확대 여부는 추가 확인이 필요하다.

다만 마이크론이 AI 데이터센터 수요 확대에 대응해 HBM과 첨단 DRAM 생산능력을 늘리고 있는 만큼 에코프로에이치엔이 미국 반도체 공급망에서 확보할 수 있는 사업 기회도 커질 것으로 예상된다.

EcoPro HN specializes in environmental solutions designed to remove greenhouse gases and hazardous substances generated during semiconductor manufacturing.

Its portfolio includes large-scale abatement systems that treat perfluorinated compounds, or PFCs, emitted during semiconductor processes.

When announcing its Hoffman contract in August, EcoPro HN said the project would serve as a foothold for expanding its greenhouse-gas reduction solutions into overseas semiconductor manufacturing sites.

Entry into Micron’s supply chain is also significant from the standpoint of customer diversification.

EcoPro HN’s semiconductor environmental-equipment business has historically grown around Samsung Electronics, but the company is increasingly expanding into overseas semiconductor manufacturing sites in the United States and Singapore.

Last month, EcoPro HN also secured an approximately KRW 93.6 billion greenhouse-gas abatement equipment contract with Micron’s Singapore operation.

The company recently said its cumulative orders for the year had reached approximately KRW 250 billion, including the Micron Singapore contract and approximately KRW 40.8 billion in Hoffman-related Idaho contracts.

Attention now turns to how far EcoPro HN can expand its business in Idaho.

South Korean media previously reported that the company was pursuing a KRW 200 billion to KRW 250 billion opportunity to supply RCS systems and chemical filters to Micron’s new ID1 and ID2 fabs.

What can currently be verified from public records is approximately KRW 40.8 billion in Idaho-related contracts with Hoffman and U.S. trade records showing direct shipments from EcoPro HN to “Micron ID1 Boise.”

Whether the full KRW 200 billion to KRW 250 billion package has been formally awarded, and whether EcoPro HN’s supply scope will extend to ID2, requires further confirmation.

Still, as Micron expands HBM and advanced DRAM capacity to meet growing AI data-center demand, EcoPro HN could gain additional opportunities within the U.S. semiconductor supply chain.
