[Mir’s Global Radar]Brazil's Ybera Partners with Korean Firms Myungsung and KPT for Skincare Production

Brazilian cosmetics company Ybera has entered into a partnership with South Korean companies Myungsung and KPT to develop, formulate and manufacture a new skincare line.

According to Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, Ybera is investing 80 million Brazilian reais in its expansion into skincare, with plans to introduce 14 products.

The arrangement highlights a business model in which a Brazilian company retains its own brand and distribution channels while relying on Korean partners for product development and manufacturing capabilities.

Expanding Local Capacity While Choosing Korean Manufacturing

Ybera has built its business around haircare products and operates in more than 50 countries.

The company has also been expanding its manufacturing and logistics infrastructure in Brazil. Earlier this year, it disclosed plans to invest approximately 60 million reais in facilities in Viana, Espírito Santo.

Despite expanding its domestic production capacity, Ybera has turned to Korean partners for its new skincare line. The company aims to combine Korean cosmetic technology with formulations tailored to Brazilian consumers and local environmental conditions.

Korean Partners Support Development of 14 Skincare Products

Myungsung and KPT have been named as Ybera's Korean partners in product development, formulation and manufacturing.

KPT operates in cosmetic ingredients, encapsulation technology and OEM/ODM manufacturing.

Ybera's planned skincare portfolio includes 14 products featuring ingredients such as vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, peptides, PDRN and GHK-Cu. The company has highlighted its Sphere Tech microencapsulation technology as a key feature of the product line.

The products are expected to be priced between 100 and 300 Brazilian reais.

The reported 80 million reais represents Ybera's overall investment in its skincare expansion,

K-Beauty Expands Beyond Finished-Product Exports

Ybera plans to market its new skincare products through digital distribution channels, including social commerce platforms.

The partnership reflects a broader shift in the international expansion of Korean cosmetics. Rather than simply importing finished Korean brands, overseas companies are increasingly working with Korean manufacturers to develop products under their own labels.

A similar model has emerged in Brazil through Cimed's collaboration with Korean cosmetics manufacturer GDK Cosmetics.

For Brazilian companies, these partnerships combine local branding and distribution with Korean formulation and manufacturing expertise. For Korean suppliers, they create opportunities to participate in overseas product development and production without necessarily building their own consumer brands in each market.

The Ybera partnership illustrates how Korean cosmetics companies are extending their international business from finished-product exports into technology-driven manufacturing partnerships.
