인도 타임스 오브 인디아의 14일 보도에 따르면, 이번 신형 i20는 브라질 시장에서 가장 먼저 데뷔를 마쳤다.
완전히 새로워진 외관 디자인과 개편된 실내 인테리어, 그리고 업데이트된 파워트레인(엔진·변속기) 옵션을 적용해 이전 세대 모델과 차별화된 상품성을 갖춘 것이 특징이다.
Hyundai Motor Company has officially unveiled the fourth-generation 'New i20', its premium hatchback model, to the global market following the recent online leak of its images.According to a report by The Times of India on June 14, the new i20 made its initial debut in the Brazilian market. The vehicle features a completely redesigned exterior, a revamped interior, and updated powertrain (engine and transmission) options, distinguishing its product competitiveness from the previous generation.

신형 i20는 기존 해치백의 고유한 실루엣을 유지하면서도 최근 자동차 시장의 흐름에 맞춰 SUV에서 영감을 얻은 디자인 요소를 곳곳에 배치했다.
전면부에는 화살표 모양의 헤드램프를 좌우로 길게 연결하는 일체형 LED 라이트 바를 장착했으며, Y자 형상의 LED 주간주행등(DRL)으로 독특한 이미지를 구현했다.
후면부 역시 삼각형 하우징에 통합된 연결형 테일램프와 새로운 17인치 투톤 알로이 휠을 적용했다. 현대차의 K3 플랫폼을 기반으로 설계돼 전장 4,130mm, 전폭 1,780mm, 전고 1,495mm, 휠베이스(축거) 2,580mm의 차체 크기를 갖췄으며 트렁크 용량은 346리터다.
실내 인테리어는 현대적이고 깔끔한 구조로 거듭났다. 대시보드에는 디지털 계기판과 인포테인먼트 터치스크린이 하나로 이어진 곡면형(커브드) 디스플레이를 탑재했다.
여기에 새로운 3스포크 스티어링 휠과 재설계된 센터 콘솔, 투톤 가죽 시트, 무선 충전 패드 등을 적용해 감성 품질을 높였다.
Integrating SUV Design Elements and Completely Revamping the Interior
While maintaining the familiar silhouette characteristic of a traditional hatchback, the new i20 incorporates SUV-inspired styling elements throughout to align with recent automotive market trends.The front end features a full-width LED light bar that horizontally connects a pair of arrow-shaped headlamps, implementing a distinct signature with Y-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The rear end similarly adopts connected tail-lamps integrated into triangular-shaped housings, complemented by new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Built on Hyundai’s K3 platform, the vehicle measures 4,130 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm and a boot capacity of 346 liters.The interior layout has been updated to be modern and clean. The dashboard is equipped with a curved display that integrates the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment touchscreen. Furthermore, emotional quality has been enhanced by applying a new three-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned center console, two-tone leather upholstery, and a wireless charging pad.

현대자동차는 브라질 현지의 연료 환경에 최적화된 두 가지 타입의 플렉스 퓨엘(에탄올 혼합 연료) 엔진 라인업을 제공한다. 기본형 모델에는 1.0리터 3기통 자연흡기 엔진과 5단 수동변속기가 조합된다. 가솔린 주입 시 74마력, 에탄올 주입시 79마력의 성능을 발휘한다. 상위 트림에는 1.0리터 직분사 터보 플렉스 퓨엘 엔진과 6단 자동변속기가 탑재되어 최고 출력 113마력, 최대 토크 172Nm를 낸다.
현대차측은 해당 터보엔진이 E30 가솔린이나 에탄올 연료 종류에 관계없이 동일한 성능을 유지하도록 설계됐다고 설명했다.
Equipped with a Flex-Fuel Engine Optimized for Brazil
Hyundai Motor Company offers two types of flex-fuel (ethanol-blended fuel) engine options tailored specifically to the local fuel environment in Brazil.The entry-level model is powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This unit develops 74 bhp when running on petrol and increases to 79 bhp when fueled by ethanol. Higher trims are equipped with a 1.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged flex-fuel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum output of 113 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Hyundai stated that the turbocharged engine is engineered to maintain identical performance metrics whether it runs on E30 petrol or ethanol.
